This Recipe is for very simple and easy to prepare beef curry.It is also called traditional Indian beef curry.If you follow step by step directions for simple beef curry than you will come up with a very tasty meal.Preparation time for beef curry is about 1 hour (well it depends on you, how quick your are in preparing material.I would recommend cooking slowly.)
Ingredients
Beef steak or rump – 1 kg
Onion – 2 medium size, chopped
Olive oil – 5 tablespoons
Garlic – 1 teaspoon, crushed
Ginger – 1 Inch, crushed
Salt – to taste
Ground cumin – 2 teaspoon.
Chili powder – 1 tea spoon or according to taste
Turmeric – 1/2 teaspoon
Tomato paste – 1 can (500g)
Yogurt – 200 gram
Water – Depends on how much thick curry you want.
Coriander leaves – 2 table spoon, finely chopped
Preparation Method for Beef Curry
Remove all fat from beef and make small cubes.
Heat vegetable oil in a heavy based pan over high heat.
Add chopped onion and fry till change into light golden color.
Add beef cubes and fry until browned from all sides.
Add yogurt, ginger,garlic,salt, cumin, red chili, turmeric, and cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat.
Add tomato paste and cook for further 6 minutes.
Add water and bring into boil over high heat.Reduce heat to low and let simmer until meat is tender (about 45 to 55 minutes, it depends on beef quality.)
Sprinkle chopped coriander and steam for one minute. your beef curry is ready now
Serving suggestion for beef curry
Serve either with Nan, Rice or Chappati.
Vegi Beef Curry
2 cups beef broth (to make vegan, use veggie broth)
1 bag of frozen vegi mix (I used strir fry mix)
4 servings of curry roux
Start by putting the vegetables and stock in a saucepan and bringing it to a boil. Then discard a cup of the broth and stir with the curry roux. Bring it back into the pot pan and let simmer until lessened by half and stew thick. Serve with a plate on rice and enjoy. This recipe makes 3 servings.
